2013 Minutes

Vice President Dave Dehem was on hand to greet our members and a great night of racing was seen by all. Our MARFC Uniform/Helmet Bag was given to the # 5X Young Lions driver Trent Musk for his involvement in raising over $750.00 on his own for Race Fans Against Cancer. After finishing his feature he climbed the flag stand and had his head shaved in honor of his sister who is a cancer survivor. Thanks to Tom Sprague and the staff of Winston for having us again this year.

Our event at the Onaway Speedway club member Nancy Rathbun was on hand to greet members. Our MARFC/Uniform Helmet Bag was presented to Modified # 49 Ryan Radzjiewski for his love & loyalty of racing. Don Jones was our winner of the MARFC Members Raffle and Promoter Jim DuBois was given an Appreciation Award on this night as he was unable to attend our banquet back in January when we presented them to the other promoters. We thank Jim & Krista along with the speedway for being a part of our membership tracks again for this season and hope to continue it your many years to come.

Our rescheduled MARFC Day at the Spartan Speedway went on without Mother Nature making an appearance.  This update by Rand Thompson! The winner if the MARFC Uniform/Helmet bag at Spartan Speedway was Spartan Stock driver Davey Kelley. Davey worked on crews for 20 years before deciding to try his hand as a driver. Last season was his rookie season at the age of 53, and he won a few features before the season ended. Always has a smile and very respected by both his fellow racers and the fans. MARFC Members raffle winner was Gary Sheppard. Thanks “Big Ed” for your great PR! Once again a big thank you to Jim Leasure and the staff at Spartan for rescheduling our event this year!
