Mother Nature Wins Again Auto City Cancelled!

Sorry for the repeat of yesterdays bad message but Auto City has cancelled all events for tonight. We will work on Re-Scheduling our MARFC Night and should have the new date in the June Newsletter. Please call fellow MARFC Members that you know don’t use e-mail and let them know. Flat Rock still has racing as does Springport, Kalamazoo, and Crystal, at least at the time I write this (10:47 AM). Get out to the races if you can. Hope to see you next week at Kalamazoo Speedway.

Volunteers Needed for MARFC Events!

Good Morning MARFC Members,
Have you ever gone to a MARFC day and wondered what it would be like to hang out at the membership table and talk to other members or prospective new members. Do you think that you need to be “On The Board” to do so. Well, nothing could be further from the truth. All you have to be is a member of MARFC and have the desire to give back to the club. We have a number of dates that we are in need of people to either help out at the membership table or actually take on bringing the table and items to the track and taking care of fan club day for the club. If you have an interest in that please get with me at president@marfc.org or get with “Wild Bill at vicepresident@marfc.org and we can fill you in. Some of the things you will need to do is to talk with members and sign up any new members or take renewals from members. You will need to sign in the members for the member prize raffle and also present the helmet bag to the person the track chooses, on track before the races. If you have the desire to do this but need a little re-assuring in the form of training be sure to let us know and we will work with you at a fan club day so that you are ready and able to do a night on your own.

This is your club as well as the Board of Directors and we could use your help.
Have fun and “See You at the Races”

I-96 Speedway Cancels Due to Heavy Rains!

Good morning race fans,
Unfortunately, Mother Nature is not cooperating so the I-96 Speedway has had to cancel their races for this Saturday night April 27, 2013. Steady rains these past few weeks have turned everything into a quagmire so as soon as we can we will get this day re-scheduled with Mike and Sarah.
Following is an excerpt from a facebook post I-96 Speedway “Ok guys…. With much regret we are so bummed to have to do this, but with the rain this morning…it set us over the point of no return. We are going to have to cancel our events for this Saturday, April 27th. We are aware the weekend is supposed to be nice, but unfortunately, the damage is already done :(… Please spread the word. We will kick off the 2013 racing season on May 4th! Please check back often, as we will schedule a test and tune during the week ASAP.”
So now that you have Saturday night free, there are a number of tracks opening up that are still able to go ahead so try out Auto City, Flat Rock, Kalamazoo, Winston, Crystal, or Owosso this Saturday night as these tracks all support MARFC and are ready to throw that first green flag of the season. Don’t forget the big CRA show at Springport on Sunday as well.
We look forward to seeing you at Flat Rock Speedway on May 4, 2013 as well as Spartan Speedway on May 10 with Auto City on May 11.
Until then, I hope I haven’t missed anyone’s opener and if I did, I apologize. “We’ll see you at the races in 2013.”
