MARFC Goes Road Racing at Waterford Hills Raceway in 2018!

A nice day of racing at Waterford Hills today. Representing the club was John Jackson & Rand Thompson. Winner of the Helmet/Uniform bag was Kitchener Ontario racer Sean Gibson who races a 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. Very interesting background story on the car. Sean’s dad Colin Gibson raced the car in the 80’s winning a race with it at Waterford Hills in 1987. The car was sold and when Colin got the opportunity last year to buy it back he jumped at the chance. Colin and Sean went through the entire car to get it prepared for racing again and Sean was able to win with it this weekend! 1)  (L to R) Waterford Hills representative Keith Price, Sean Gibson, and MARFC Board member Rand Thompson

MARFC at Thunderbird Raceway in 2018!

Outstanding night for racing on the dirt on the west side of the state. Weather was perfect, and the pit area was packed with loads of racing. Warrior driver # X Derrick Stahl was chosen to receive out MARFC/Uniform Helmet Bag for his support of the track and making it a family of racers with his step daughter Ella Mattson who drives a mini-wedge car at the raceway. They even won a heat race together. Vic Yurick was the winner of our MARFC raffle that evening. Many thanks to Tom Sprague and the entire staff for a great time and having us back again this year & can’t wait to return in 2019! MARFC Returns to Owosso Speedway in 2018!

Great night for our return trip to the Owosso Speedway after a ten-year absence. Good crowd on hand and some good racing to boot. We had over 40 members in attendance that evening, and we thank them for supporting the speedway by returning after so long. The MARFC/Uniform Helmet Bag was given to Pure Stock driver # 7 Nick Johnston for his support of the track and his division over the years. Many Thanks to “Big Ed” and Dennis Grim for making it possible for our club to return and all the PR Ed did that night. Table helpers for the night were, Al & Kyle Peltier, John Jackson, Barry Meschke and yours truly. Thanks again to all who stopped by and said Hi!(Photo Top: Nick Johnston & John Jackson) (Photo Middle:Chuck “The Flounder” Darling & Al Peltier) (Photo Bottom: John Jackson, Doug Jakeway, Al Peltier & Barry Meschke)
