LEGENDARY VOICE IN RACING GOES SILENT!

RIP LARRYWe here at MARFC mourn the loss of our good friend Larry Loynes! The final checked flag has waved on our friend Larry. Larry was one of our sports greatest announcers and radio host and will truly be missed by all those who had the opportunity to meet him and become a good friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family at this time. His love of our sport and was without one of the best in the business. Larry was able to MC a couple of our MARFC Banquets over the years and did an excellent job and Larry also received one of our sports highest honors and the 2007 Tom Carnegie Announcer of the Year. It was my honor to help Terry Fitzwater present this very special award to Larry than evening and know his was very humbled and proud to receive this great award. Although Larry’s voice is now silent here on earth I truly believe that his is calling some of the best races along with those other great announcers who have gone on before him. I can see him now standing next to Tom Carnegie smiling and having fun. Until we meeting again! “God’s Speed” my friend.

Sincerely, The Board of Directors and the entire membership of the Michigan Automobile Racing Fan Club.
