MARFC Treks North To Onaway Speedway!

Onawayweb1The DuBois family chose Brian Baumgarten to receive the helmet uniform bag.  Brian’s #100 Modified is in first place in points as of 8-9.  It was a great night of racing and entertainment.  As a salute to our Veterans, there were 3 military vehicles on the track. Two trucks carried gave the fans on trips around the track. There was also a large tanker.  Once all the fans had their on-track experience, the flagman turned the military vehicles loose and there was a lot of excitement as they passed each other while flashing lights and blowing horns.  After the evening’s regular racing concluded, the trailer racing began.  There is no way to describe it.  It is best to attend Onaway’s Fan Club night in person.  Several club members made the trip from down state and new member Dick Norman was the winner of the fan club gifts for signing in.  Dick just joined and was busy trying out his voice as the new back up announcer.  Great fun was had by all. Sue Ginter was our MARFC table person for the night.

MARFC Heads West to Winston Speedway!

winstonweb1Many thanks to Tom Sprague Sr. and staff for another great night of racing at West Michigan’s best dirt track, Winston Speedway. The weather was perfect and many MARFC members were treated to some great racing action this past Saturday, August 2nd. The MARFC Helmet bag was presented to the driver of the #1K Young Gun, Christine Johnson. Christine has been racing the past 3 years and is always enthusiastic in supporting the track and the division. This season she is a multiple feature winner and recorded a top five finish this past Saturday. Track announcer Brian Osborne kept the crowd informed all night and is another reason the racing is so good at Winston Speedway. Howard Town was the winner of the MARFC Member raffle and table helper was Julie DeHem.winstonweb2 Thanks again to Tom for being a MARFC Member track and we look forward to coming back to Winston Speedway in 2015.
