I-96 Speedway MARFC Night Cancelled!

ATTENTION ALL MARFC MEMBERS!

Due to the heavy rains this week I-96 Speedway has cancelled its racing program for tonight July 30, 2011. With the heavy rains all this week the track & parking lots are under water and the speedway staff has tried to pump them out enough to run but is not going to get it done in time. At this time we are not sure on rescheduling date but will work with the speedway to see if can be done.

Please advise others who have no internet access and let them know the tonight’s MARFC event is cancelled.

Thank you and sorry!

July 25, 2011

We here at MARFC are truly saddened by the news of the passing of one of it’s Lifetime members George Adastik. George and his wife Edna have been members since 1965. George was 91 years old and one of the greatest race fans I have ever had the chance to meet. He was a member of the Indianapolis 500 Old Timers Club attending just over 60 plus years in a row. When I first became President of the club he was one of the first club members to call me up and tell me how enjoyed the club and he was always there supporting my decisions and helping the club when needed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Edna and the entire Adastik family at this time. He is now in his reserved seat in heavens speedway. “God’s Speed to our friend George”

8th Annual MARFC Picnic

July 10, 2011 gave us another red letter day to hold the annual MARFC Picnic. The weather was hot, the food was great and over 50 people young and old came to Stoney Creek to enjoy a day of bench racing, camaraderie, some great burgers, dogs, and salads as well as a bunch of fantastic games. Word has it that the President and Vice President even had a small water balloon fight. I think that Wild Bill got a bit wetter than me. It was a great day and all the kids had a blast.
