We here at MARFC just heard the news of the passing of one of our MARFC Fan of the Year winners. Jack Colpean Jr. passed away suddenly during back surgery in late November. His wife Diane contacted me about his passing last week. Jack & his Dad Jack Sr. were at the races just about every time there was a MARFC event. True race fans were he and his dad. They also were great supporters of our club donating items for our auctions at the banquets and even toys for our annual children’s Christmas party events. Our Annual Children’s Christmas Party event was held at the Mt. Clemens Elks Lodge # 2124. Mt. Clemens, Michigan with 30 children and their families on hand for a great afternoon. All the children had a wonderful time with “Kinker the Clown” who entertained them with magic balloon making and More Than Magic show provided by Professor Magic. Each child had their picture taken with Santa and received a special gift from him to take home and enjoy! Everyone had a fantastic time, which included a wonderful luncheon with Santa. The children even had a door prize raffle to have a chance to receive a little something extra. Every child also, received a goody bag with coloring books, crayons, to take home and enjoy. We want to give a very special Thank You to all who donated items, food and finances for this event! It would not happen without your loyal support! So, from all the MARFC Children and our Board of Directors thanks you all so much and have an Outstanding New Year! Special thanks to all who helped set up and take down during the party.
