“Merry Christmas from MARFC”

To All MARFC members: May you all be blessed this Christmas with love, warmth & happiness! May your day be filled with all your family and friends enjoying the fellowship together. Hoping Santa brings each and every one all the toys they need to go racing in 2022. Remember if you cannot be with loved ones this day take the time to give them a call as family is the most important thing of all. Take the time to remember those who have gone on the Lord’s home as memories are always cherished here & now. May the Lord Bless & Keep Us all today and all throughout the coming year.

Racing Legend Bod Keselowski Passes Away!

We here at MARFC are very saddened to hear about the passing of one of Michigan’s Legendary racers Bob Keselowski. His was an outstanding person on and off the track. Soft spoken and very approachable for anyone who wanted to stop and talk to him anytime. I personally remember Bob from the old days at the Mt. Clemens Race Track and he was always great to talk to. He was gracious enough to let us into his race shop when it was here in Michigan to hold a tour and a MARFC meeting. We presented him with the MARFC/Eddie Sachs Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award back in 2004 at our banquet. Our thoughts & prayers are with the Keselowski family. “Rest Well” until we meet again in the Lord’s house. (Photo above: Bill Barnhart, Bob Keselowski & Eddie Sachs Jr.)

MARFC Children’s Christmas Party Report for 2021!

What an awesome time everyone had young & old. All the children had a great time with Klinker the Clown who made custom shaped balloons for each of them and to Mr. Magic for the great magic show he provided. So thankful to be able to have this event this year. I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE FOLKS who donated funds to help it be so special. Thanks to Jimmy Gullett for donating the hot dogs for the luncheon. Many thanks to all those who help set up and clean up. The folks at the Fraser Lions Club were very gracious for holding our date over from last year’s event that got cancelled. Big thank you to Rob & Lisa Michon for taking all the photos of the kids with Santa. Very grateful for those who brought non-perishable food items. Geoff Michon won our 50/50 raffle! Want to say again how grateful I am for all those who helped make this event possible. General Meeting for MARFC in November 2021!

What a great meeting we had at the Road House Grill & Bar in Jackson. Our friend Marty Blume gave us some enlightening information about the old Jackson Motor Speedway with stats and stories from days gone by. Then Ryan Hollister talked about how he got started in racing and working hard with his Dad Kelly and win the2021 Springport Speedway championship. Both the promoters Tom & Tracey Hernly of Corrigan Oil Speedway informed us all on what it takes to go from racing cars to owning and operating a speedway and were their future is heading in the 2022 season. Our 50/50 winner was Linda Hurd and she donated her winning to Ryan to help with his 2022 racing. Big thanks to Linda Hurd who took notes for me that evening, appreciated.
