Howdy Folks, Sorry, to say that because of the increase in this COVID thing in the Jackson area the yellow flag was being used. But, now the RED Flag is out on our general meeting for November 14, 2020 and is cancelled. Please pass this along to folks you know who don’t have e-mail address for us to contact. The folks are the Road House Grill & Bar have graciously aloud us to move our meeting to FEBRUARY 20, 2021 with the same location and start time along with Marty Blume as our guest speaker for the evening. Be sure to mark it down on your schedules for 2021! So stay tuned and we will try to get a fresh start in February. Hope to see you all soon! Stay Safe! Thanks for your understanding! Report on MARFC October 2020 General Meeting!

A big thanks to all who came out and supported our club with safe and social distancing for all concern. Thanks for the staff at Dooley’s Tavern in Shelby for having us and working to make our meeting a safe and secure one. Our first guest speaker for the night was Andrew Bogusz 2019 Rookie Junior Racer of the Year Award winner who let us know how his 2020 racing season went after getting a late start because of the COVID restrictions. Andrew also had his car on display. Then Matt Hoonhout owner & promotor of the Silver Bullet Speedway informed all on how they have one of their best years because on the COVID restrictions closing most all of the entertainment in the thumb area of Michigan. Matt said when he could open his facility about six weeks late many new fans came in and with hopes they will return next season. He also told us of all the new changes coming for the speedway in 2021 and hopes his fan and car counts continue to grow. We also, want to thank Eddie Sachs Racing along with Fast Time Motorsports for the donation of food & soft drinks for our members and setting up our meeting at Dooley’s for the evening. We had Larry LaMay being there and donating one of his autographed second edition racing books as our inhouse raffle prize and the winner was Matt Hoonhout. Our annual raffle prize winners were drawn with the winners being for 1ST Prize Dick Lee of Grand Rapids, MI, & 2nd Prize to Betty Sokol of Venice, Fl. Very Important News from MARFC!

To All MARFC Members and Race Fans: We have some very disappointing news but since we here at MARFC have decided that we cannot for certain, ensure a safe and healthy environment for all that would attend our 2020 Annual Children’s Christmas Party to be held on December 6th 2020 we regrettably and unfortunately have CANCELLED.  Due to the restrictions by the local health agencies and the state that have been placed upon the hall we are using we feel that this is in the best interest and safety for all. Knowing things are looking a little better now but, we feel that it could possibly make a second lap or two before this is all said and done. We know the children will miss it very much but rest assured, we have already rescheduled this event for next December. For those who helped with donations we are incredibly grateful and have set all those donations aside to make next year’s party even better. Thank You for your understanding and sorry again to all the children!

Again, another sad announcement! Our 55 TH ANNUAL MARFC AWARDS & DINNER DANCE BANQUET set for SATURDAY JANUARY 16, 2021 unfortunately has been CANCELLED!  With most of the racing in the state of Michigan cancelled all season and only a few tracks being able to run a partial season with additionally only a few of them electing to run  for points and championships we find that in the face of all the restrictions imposed upon public venues it is not in the best interest for all concerned to move forward with a Banquet in January 2021. We here at MARFC take pride when it comes to our banquet and feel this is best for us as we will return in January 2022 to host the best racing awards banquet in the state.

We are currently working on how to honor all those 2020 champions that were crowned points champions this past season. So, stay tuned and we will have more information on how that will all work out here soon. Congratulations to all those Champions of 2020 and we will see you all at the races soon.

MARFC Update for October 2020!

Well, all the racing in near over and for some championships were won and for others the hope of racing in 2020 were very short lived. Here’s to all who were able to race and go to the races along with all those tracks who were able to run this season. A big congratulations to all of you. As we can only hope and pray that the 2021 racing season will be bigger and better than ever. So, this will conclude our 2020 MARFC Fan Club Day Events. Terribly sorry that we did not get the chance to enjoy all racing at all our membership tracks but, with a little prayer and tons of hope next season will be back on track. Many thanks to all who did get the chance to go to any of our events and a Big Thank You to all of our speedways for their support of racing here in Michigan. Also, just a reminder of our FALL 2020 MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS: We are still a go for our fall meetings at this time! So, come out and support our club as we will be following all the protocols needed to hold these meeting. Keep checking our web site for any changes that might happen.

As Always Keep Racing! Bill Barnhart MARFC President
