Our MARFC meeting held at the Toledo Speedway Bar & Grille following a great RACER’S REUNION was a very informative meeting as Ron Drager explained about the changes that the ARCA racing series has done to keep costs down for all their teams and still be competitive. He also talked about how the MSPA (Michigan Speedways Promoters Association) works hard to keep their gates open and what they can do as a group to help keep fans and racers coming back to their facilities each week. Scott Schultz was on hand to inform all about the changes at both speedways and that they have been able to get sponsors for all their divisions at both tracks. Many thanks to Scott & Ron for making this meeting possible! (Top Left: Ron Drager Top Right: Scott Schultz Bottom: Members of the Board at the MSPA Meeting held in March)
We here are very saddened to hear of the passing of one of Michigan’s racing legends Jack Goodwin. Jack has been a longtime MARFC member & supporter. He came to many of our general meetings as a guest speaker and to our annual banquets and was presented the MARFC/Eddie Sachs Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award back in 2006. Jack was a childhood hero of mine and being able to find and connect back up with him again in 1998 and spending time with him when he came to town was priceless. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Eunice and Jacks family at this time. Knowing that he is at God’s side now is a comfort for all. Jack has taken his final checkered flag with us here but now is in heaven racing for eternity for the Lord. “God’s Speed My Friend”.
Sincerely, Bill Barnhart MARFC President
A memorial is being planned at the First Chruch of the Nazarene Bradenton on Wednesday March 11th at 4pm.

Many folks were on hand to enjoy bowling and bench racing and for all who came out to help support the 12th Annual MSTRC Bowling Tournament we say thank you! With the many donations that were given to help the great cause everyone had a good chance to take something home. Big Ed Inloes and Chuck Darling did a fantastic job for this event and were on hand to present the two benefactors Aaron Dancer and Jason VanDuesen. Jason was on hand along with Danny Gaddis who is Aaron Dancers Uncle. Jason has had a lot of medical issues over the past few years and is a huge supporter of racing and is also a MARFC member and was very grateful to all who gave on their time and donations. Aaron was unable to attend as his has finally returned to work after being off for over three months after the crash he had at the Spartan Speedway last fall so his Uncle Danny Gaddis was there and was truly moved by all the generosity of the racing community and extended his and Aarons many thanks.
