Happy & Safe 4th to All!

Hello Race Fans,

Just wanted to wish all of you a happy and safe Fourth of July. Happy Birthday America, Let Freedom Ring. If your plans include racing have a great time, if not, be safe and enjoy whatever it is that you are going to do today. It’s hot so drink plenty of water in addition to anything else you might drink today.

Our next Fan Club Day is on Friday July 13, 2012 at the Tri-City Motor Speedway with a date at Whittemore the very next night. Until then, get out and support your local race track.

Yours in Racing,

MARFC Day at Owosso Speedway!

On June 30, 2012 the club was the guests of Rick and Jennie Miracle at the Historic Owosso Speedway. A great night of racing on a very hot summer night that saw excellent racing action in all the divisions of the night! The MARFC Helmet Bag was given to Limited Late Model Driver Tony Basalone in recognition of his dedication to the Owosso Speedway as well as the multiple championships He has won at the speedway in the Pro-Stock/Sportsman type of race car before moving up to the Late Models this season. Tony has always been a front running and clean driver that gives no less than 100 % effort each night of racing. In addition Tony has been an honoree at the MARFC Banquet on a few occasions. Our MARFC Member Raffle prize winner was young Logan Fischer who was out for a night at the races. Table helpers were Dennis Trinklien, Robert Wilkinson, and Doug Jakeway. This night saw a fantastic turn-out of MARFC members and it was good to visit with many of them. Many thanks to Rick and Jennie Miracle as well as the staff of the Speedway including Track PA Announcer Chris Fobbe for his many mentions of the club!

Springport Motor Speedway hosts MARFC Event!

June 23rd saw the club make its way to the center of the state and a full program at the Springport Motor Speedway. Club members were not only treated to a fantastic night of racing that also saw a vintage race car show on the race track as well as a MARFC Social/Pot-Luck/Picnic prior to the night’s races. We had a great turnout for this event with some really great tasting dishes that were passed around. The club provided the Burgers-n-Dogs while the Speedway provided the ambience and facility. If you missed it you missed some really good food and some great bench racing before a night of competitive stock car racing.  The recipient of the MARFC Helmet Bag was the racing team of George Speer and Shane Wright, drivers of the #3 and #8 ABC Stock Cars. These two drivers work on their cars together and share one trailer to get back and forth to the races which means two trips each way to the Speedway. These two share everything for their race cars and we are sure that they will put the MARFC Helmet bag to good use. The MARFC Member prize winner was Michelle Spraque while table helpers were Al Peltier and Dave DeHem. Many thanks go out to Jeff and Pam Parish and the staff of the Springport Motor Speedway for hosting the club and providing a great venue for our Social/Pot Luck/Picnic.
