Once again great night of racing at the Flat Rock Speedway! Our members were treated to some awesome short track racing with four divisions on hand. Our MARFC Uniform/Helmet Bag was presented to Street Stock # 03 driver Ray Morneau Jr. for Winsor Ontario Canada who runs regularly at the Rock and done an outstanding job moving up in his division. Paul Smith was our MARFC members raffle winner for the evening. Many thanks to Scott Schultz & Ron Drager and staff of the speedway for their hospitality again this season. Table helpers for the night were Larry & Sue Iacoboni, Dave DeHem, Barry Meschke & Patti Bihn.(Photo Top: MARFC Board & Ray Morneau Jr.)(Photo Bottom: MARFC Raffle winner Paul Smith)
The first of our 2016 fan club day events went on without a hitch. Weather was clear and cool until later when the sun went down it got colder but great racing was seen by all who attended. Our MARFC/Uniform Helmet Bag was presented to Legends # 17 driver Gregory Rudzik for his most improvement as a driver in his series. John Jackson won the MARFC members raffle for the evening. Many thanks for Jim Leasure and the entire staff of Spartan Speedway for the invite again this year. Table helpers were Doug Jakeway & Rand Thompson!(Top Photo:MARFC Board member Rand Thompson & Gregory Rudzik)( Bottom Photo: John Jackson wins MARFC raffle at Spartan)
Attention all MARFC Members! Our MARFC night at the Auto City Outdoor Event Center for May 14, 2016 has be cancelled due to incoming bad weather! However we have already rescheduled the event for September 10, 2016! Thanks to Joe & Sharon for making this happen and we will see you then!

We here at MARFC mourn the loss of our good friend Larry Loynes! The final checked flag has waved on our friend Larry. Larry was one of our sports greatest announcers and radio host and will truly be missed by all those who had the opportunity to meet him and become a good friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family at this time. His love of our sport and was without one of the best in the business. Larry was able to MC a couple of our MARFC Banquets over the years and did an excellent job and Larry also received one of our sports highest honors and the 2007 Tom Carnegie Announcer of the Year. It was my honor to help Terry Fitzwater present this very special award to Larry than evening and know his was very humbled and proud to receive this great award. Although Larry’s voice is now silent here on earth I truly believe that his is calling some of the best races along with those other great announcers who have gone on before him. I can see him now standing next to Tom Carnegie smiling and having fun. Until we meeting again! “God’s Speed” my friend.
Sincerely, The Board of Directors and the entire membership of the Michigan Automobile Racing Fan Club.
