The Loss Another MARFC Club Founder!

We are very saddened by the news that one of our club founders has taken her final checkered flag in life. Marion Flokstra wife of Willis Flokstra passed away this afternoon and is now in the arms of the Lord. Willis & Marion were married for nearly 60 years and were the last two of our clubs founders that started nearly 52 years ago. Marion had been in poor health these last several years and unable to attend our 50th Anniversary Banquet but she was with us in spirit at that time. Our thoughts & prayers are with Willis and his family at this time. “God’s Speed Marion & we’ll see you on the other side someday!

Sincerely, Bill Barnhart MARFC President

Funeral services to honor Marian will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, Michigan.  Marian’s family will meet with friends and relatives from 12 p.m. until the time of services in the Chapel.  Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens. February 2017 MARFC Meeting Report!

Small but very enlightened meeting for those who turned out for our February MARFC meeting. Our guest speaker was unable to attend do to last minute issues. So, we did a round robin type of storytelling of how each person go started in racing as a fan or racer. It went quick well for all who were there. Then we went from our meeting room into the Gratiot Huddle Sports Bar & Grill across the hall & were ready to watch the Clash on TV until it got rain delayed to the next day.(Photo Top  MARFC Members Larry & Sue Iacoboni with 2017 MARFC Fan of the Year winner John Jackson)  (Photo Middle: Members Jeff Horan & Doug & Karen Spodeck) (Photo bottom: Member “Big Al” Peltier)
