Our first night of the season was clear & sunny for our members to see some great racing at the Spartan Speedway. Our MARFC Members Raffle was won by Kathy Boyd. Our MARFC Uniform/Helmet Bag was presented to # 38 Modified driver Gord Alblas for support of his division. Unfortunately, Gord blew his engine during qualifying and unable to race that night. Many thanks to Jim Leasure and the staff at Spartan for the invite again this season. Thanks to Doug Jakeway and new board member John Jackson for the help at our sign in table for the night. OK Folks, Mother Nature has given us the RED FLAG on tonight’s racing event at the Flat Rock Speedway even though the speedway worked hard on the weepers they just can’t get it done in time with the amount of rain we have had in the last three days in order to have a night of safe racing for all involved. We have worked with the Staff at Flat Rock to get our fan club night rescheduled & I know this is going to be short notice but we will try again next week MAY 13th so please if you know others who don’t have internet let them know of the quick turnaround to get this event in for 2017. Thanks to Scott, Ron and the crew at Flat Rock for the rescheduling so quickly. Will see you next week & as always keep racing! Wild Bill MARFC President
Easter Blessings to All MARFC Members! May you all be blessed today as you gather with family & friends to celebrate this day that the Lord bestowed on us to ensure our future in this life and after.
May God Bless & Keep You All!
Bill Barnhart MARFC President
We are very saddened by the news that one of our club founders has taken her final checkered flag in life. Marion Flokstra wife of Willis Flokstra passed away this afternoon and is now in the arms of the Lord. Willis & Marion were married for nearly 60 years and were the last two of our clubs founders that started nearly 52 years ago. Marion had been in poor health these last several years and unable to attend our 50th Anniversary Banquet but she was with us in spirit at that time. Our thoughts & prayers are with Willis and his family at this time. “God’s Speed Marion & we’ll see you on the other side someday!
Sincerely, Bill Barnhart MARFC President
Funeral services to honor Marian will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, Michigan. Marian’s family will meet with friends and relatives from 12 p.m. until the time of services in the Chapel. Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens. Marian’s family would like to express their deepest thanks to the caring management and staff of Providence Health Care and Rehabilitation Center of Zeeland and Heartland Hospice of Holland for the care and attention she received.
