August 2000 Minutes

FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

It’s hard to believe that another racing season has gone by and new Champions have been crowned.  Now all that’s ahead of us in the banquet season.

In August the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club Presented NASCAR Legend Darrell Waltrip with an appreciation award for his 30 years of auto Racing. It was an honor for me to present Darrell with this award in front of 80,000 fans at the Michigan Speedway.

Special Thanks to Tommy Cameron for making all the arrangements to give this award to Darrell and to Steve & Cory Russell for helping with the presentation & photos.  A Special thanks to Rob Michon for designing the award for Darrell.

As always feel free to write me or send an e-mail to president@marfc.org

FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

It is hard to believe that it has been one year as President of the club. I have found out a lot on how the club got started and to meet so many new and current members. I hope that I have provided you with some new and updated changes to the club. I look forward to the next year and will continue to better serve the club and it’s members with even more additions and changes. We will soon be 35 years old and that is something to be proud of. Some fan club have come & gone by the wayside but, MARFC continues to grow and that’s my goal. To make it last another 35 years. I would be happy to receive your impute on the changes or if you have an idea that might help build up the club please, contact me anytime.

As always feel free to write me or send an e-mail to president@marfc.org

We here at MARFC are saddened to learn about the untimely death of NASCAR Winston Cup driver Kenny Irwin. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and race team. A loss such as this is hard to take, especially after losing Adam Petty and Scott Baker all within a couple of months of each other. God has a purpose for all of us and Kenny, Scott, and Adam are now in God’s care. Let us take a moment to remember these drivers and pray for their families.

June 2000 Minutes

FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

Racing Season is in full swing now and many of us have experienced all that racing in Michigan has to offer.  Close battles for the lead, spectacular crashes, sun(both bright and liquid varieties) cold and heat.   There are many more opportunities to enjoy your favorite kind of racing this summer, so go enjoy them.

See ya there!!!

A lot has been happening these past few weeks, hopefully this will bring us up to speed.

We would like to thank Roger Blackstock for his support of our club.  The MARFC Logo flew proudly on the hood of Roger’s ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde car for the Flat Rock Race.  Our logo was also be on the car at the Toledo Race on June 23.
