December 1999 Minutes

Our December Meeting was our Annual Children’s Christmas Party.  Nearly 50 children lined up for a picture with Santa and enjoyed magic tricks and balloon sculptures by Rick Sherman the Clown.

Left:  Rick Sherman the Clown entertains the children and adults while waiting for Santa to arrive.

Right:  Santa and our President, Wild Bill discuss the naughty and nice children.  As it turned out one of the lists was empty, lets hope it was the naughty one!!

Thanks to all of those who made donations to make our event successful and a special thanks to Bill Stone for arranging Santa’s visit at this busy time of year.

November 1999 Minutes

Our thanks to Rick Knowles, and Joy Fair for attending our November meeting.

Joy Fair–Always incredibly interesting to listen to.  Just a few days after his Retirement Bash at Toledo Speedway, I had an opportunity to visit Joy at his shop in Pontiac, MI.  Surprisingly, I found him up to his elbows in a greasy engine with tools in hand.  He quickly changed roles from mechanic to storyteller, and what fascinating stories he can tell!!!

Rick Knowles–A very deliberate and serious speaker told us how he became interested in racing and where he is headed in the future.  Rick definitely has the talent and the backing to go places.  Good Luck!!

October 1999 Minutes

Our thanks to Bob Keselowski, Jack Goodwin for speaking at our October Meeting.

Bob Keselowski and Jack Goodwin

Jack spoke of racing in days gone by and stating that if he were to do it all over again he would not race on the days he got hurt.

By contrast, Bob looked to the future talking about the 2000 racing season and plans K Automotive has for their NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series teams.
