Motorsports Looses a Great Ambassador for Our Sport!

Once again MARFC is saddened by the news of the passing of longtime friend to our club. Ron Watson, founder & president of the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA), formerly located in Novi, Mi. and then moved to Daytona International Speedway died at the age of 72. Ron was a great friend and many times spoke at our general meetings about MSHFA. He was also gracious on a couple of occasions to let our club members host a private tour of the hall and hold meetings at the facility. The racing world has lost an outstanding ambassador for our sport. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ron’s family a MSHFA friends. Rest Well My Friend Until We Meet Again!

Sincerely,
Bill Barnhart
MARFC President

Long Time MARFC Member Passes Away!

MARFC is very saddened by the news that longtime members and club supporter Bob Capps has passed away. Bob was the one who helped us set up monthly meetings at KART2KART indoor kart racing facility. He was also a awesome sports writer and photographer with many of his articles published in various racing publication. Vintage Oval Racing printed many of his articles. In 2006 Bob was presented our MARFC Motorsports Writer of the Year Award and was deeply appreciated with that honor. We send our thoughts and prayers out to Bob family. R.I.P. Old Friend!
