After a short rain delay during qualifying and before the race program started, Sue Ginter met several MARFC members and Phillip, 82, the oldest living member of the Whittemore Race Club, having joined in 1959. The track opened in 1948 and is the oldest continually operating track in Michigan. Sue presented the MARFC uniform/helmet bag to Sam Tremble Jr. driver of #84x limited late model. New member Shawn Crane won the membership raffle. The race program started with the visiting Dwarf cars heat races. While the regular classes were starting their heats, the rain came again.
