October 2008 Minutes

From the President

The season is now mostly over and it’s time for MARFC to get into the swing with it’s general meetings and the up coming 43rd Annual Awards Banquet that will be held on January 17, 2009. Don’t forget to RSVP for out MIS tour for our October 19th meeting.

We send our condolences to the family or Bob Dera longtime MARFC member who passed away last month. Our thoughts & prayers are with the Dera family.

As the holiday season approaches you might just wonder what to get the race fan in you life for Christmas. Well we have just the idea for you we have our MARFC Wearable’s on hand and how about getting a new friend or family member a 2009 membership for a stocking stuffer. Both are not too expensive and a gift that will last all year long. Just a thought!

Speaking of memberships it is time to get started on the 2009 renewals. Get a jump start on 2009 and get yours renewed early and you won’t be on the hi-lighted list come January. Thanks to all you have already renewed for 2009!

As Always Keep Racing!

September Fan Club Days

SPRINGPORT MOTOR SPEEDWAY: Round two went off without a hitch. Great weather & racing at Springport made for an outstanding night for race fans. Our MARFC/Uniform Helmet Bag was given to Pony Stock driver Bill McBride for his perfect attendance & track support for the year. Special thanks to “Big Ed” & Linda Inloes for their help talking & working the club up all night long. Thanks to Jim Leisure and Paul Zimmerman for rescheduling this event.

TOLEDO SPEEDWAY: Fantastic weather on hand for this night of racing. I did see many members take advantage of the $5.00 off general admission ticket price for the Glass City 150 late model race. Many thanks to Ron Drager, Roy Mott, and Scott Schultz for making this event possible for our members.
